The economic downturn has effected levels of service. The department is currently operating out of two fulltime stations even though the City has three stations; one station has been closed due to budget cuts. The department has 24 full-time personnel (including three chief officers) and 8 volunteers/reserves.
The rapid growth of the city has brought a higher call volume that is still growing every year. Due to the growth, new equipment and stations have been provided to the department, including new breathing apparatus and two fire engines.
Lincoln Fire Department is a young, motivated department striving for excellence to provide the best service to the citizens of this city.
